What is prediction.art?+
A prediction market for the art world. You predict the outcome of real auction events — will a work clear its high estimate, will a sale beat a total, will an index rise — and a correct call earns you Credits. Every market is settled by authoritative LiveArt auction data.
Is this real money? Is it gambling?+
No. The Preview is free to play. You play with Credits — an in-app currency you claim daily and earn by making correct calls. There's nothing to buy and nothing to cash out; it's about reading the market and climbing the leaderboard.
How is a market decided?+
Each market is bound to a specific LiveArt entity — a lot, a sale, or an index. When the real-world result is in, the market settles against the published data (for example, the hammer price versus the high estimate). No opinions, no manual guesswork on the outcome.
What's the difference between Energy and Credits?+
Energy is your free everyday currency — you claim it daily and play with it. Credits are what you earn by making correct calls. You can predict with either one (the “Pay with” switch), and both go into the same pool — but only Credits count in the end: they set your leaderboard rank and carry into the next phase. Energy is fuel; Credits are the result that sticks.
Where do I get Energy?+
Claim it once a day. The amount grows with your streak (up to a cap), and a claim expires 48 hours after you take it if you don't use it — so put it to work.
I predicted with Energy and won — what do I get?+
Credits. A correct call always returns Credits, whichever currency you used — that's how Energy turns into a lasting balance.
What happens to my stake if I'm wrong?+
It's spent — a wrong call consumes whatever you used. If a market is voided (say, a lot is withdrawn), your stake is returned in the same currency you played with.
What is “implied %”?+
It's the crowd's current read — the share of the pool on each side. It isn't a guarantee, just where the room is leaning right now, and it moves as more predictions come in.
Is there a fee?+
No. In the Preview the full pool goes to the correct side — there's no platform cut.
Can I change or cancel a prediction?+
One prediction per market, and it locks once placed — so choose your side and amount with intent. Predictions close at the market's lock time, before the real-world event.
Who decides the result?+
LiveArt's authoritative auction data. Each market states exactly what it settles on — a hammer price, a sale total, an index level — so the outcome is a fact, not a judgment call.
What if the event is cancelled or the result is unclear?+
The market is voided and every stake is refunded in the currency it was made — nobody wins or loses on a market that couldn't settle fairly.
Do I need a wallet? Do I pay anything?+
You sign in with a crypto wallet — no email or password, nothing custodial — but the Preview is free and touches no real funds. Signing in just gives you an identity for your balance, streak, and leaderboard rank.
What are Credits ultimately for?+
They're your leaderboard standing and a head start into the next phase — a one-time Credits carry-over rolls forward. The Preview is where you build a track record before the full launch.
